How do Dogs Choose their Humans

1.       Socialization: Majority of a dog’s brain development occurs in the first six months since its conception. The kind of interactions it has during these 6 months forms strong impressions in its brain and if you happen to be the person who is actively involved in its rearing, then it is most likely that he would feel a special bond with you.

2.       Attention: Dog rearing should not just be limited to feeding and bathing a dog. If you’re making the effort to spend time with your pooch besides feeding and bathing him, then it is guaranteed that he may begin to feel a different level of closeness with you.

3.       Affection: A little love is all what we need! If you often pet your dog, shower him with kisses and cuddle him a lot, then, your pooch may harbor intense affection for you.

4.       Positive association: Positive association is a huge factor in the bond between humans and dogs. Whoever provides the ‘good stuff’ the dog will follow. For example, the person who plays most with the pup, gives them their favorite treats will certainly be their favorite person.

5.       Dog breed and human personality: if you’ve ever seen a dog that looks and acts like their owner, you aren’t just seeing things. Dogs tend to choose their favorite person based on personality and energy levels. For example, if you are quiet and more reserved but your dog is lively and energetic, they may have a stronger bond with your outgoing and energetic sister!
